STUDENT RESEARCHER, YESHIVA UNIVERSITY, NEW YORK, NY
June 2014 - June 2019
PROJECTS:
LRP6 Antibody Inhibits Tumor Growth and Metastasis in Breast Cancer Mouse Models May 2017- June 2018
  • Studied the WNT pathway in Breast Cancer Stem Cells (CSCS) and its involved in augmentation of Metastasis in Breast Cancer

  • Observed the effects of the use of function blocking antibody (2F1) of the WNT pathway with in different treatment options in SCID and FvB mice.

  • Saw significant tumor reduction and decrease in metastasis in mice treated with Doxorubicin and function blocking antibody

  • Breast Cancer Intravasation Signature from Patient Fine Needle Aspirates May 2017- April 2018
    • Studied the process for intravasation for an “signature” that would be able to tell us which cells were able to enter the blood stream, and which were unable to

    • Understanding the process of intravasation and developing methods that will be able to prevent it

    • This study was the first study of its type to try to find specific genes and pathways that are involved in the intravasation process

      • Studied the use of personalized medicine in Lung Cancer patients with early detection techniques and improvements in treatment effectiveness.

      • Patients cell sample collected via Fine Needle Aspirate, and afterwards used a unique molecular diagnostic assay for cancer detection from as little as 50 cells which was not possible before.

      • With the method shown above, we were able to identify which patients would respond to a treatment.
